8th December - Feast of the Immaculate Conception
As a singular favour God allowed Our Lady to share BEFOREHAND in the salvation Christ would bring by his Cross and Resurrection. And o Mary was kept sinless from the first moment of her conception in the womb of her mother, Saint Anne. In this way Our Lady “full of grace” was to be a worthy mother of God’s Son and a sign of favour to the Church at its beginning. Mary is conceived immaculate because God’s grace is stronger than sin, and God’s light is stronger than any darkness or fear To believe in the Immaculate Conception is to be certain that, no matter how great the sin, God’s grace will master it, and God’s grace will triumph over it.
CALENDARS
As last year, have produced a calendar with all the feasts marked on it, and a picture of one of Ogle Street’s “treasures” for every month. They area an invitation to contribute to the crypt fund. We hope to carry on excavating soon. The calendars will be available at all the masses today.
ADVENT CAROL SERVICE
Tickets will also be available for the Advent Carol service on Friday 16th December. They are £10 each or £25 for a family. The proceeds will also be used for the works to extend the Crypt.
MORNING PRAYER
During ADVENT, Morning Prayer continues in the crypt at 6.30AM every weekday. It is an early start! – but necessary for those who have to go to work immediately afterwards.
